Working through the night and winning the
2019 Accenture Challenge.
Every year, the Center for Information Communications Sciences (CICS) at Ball State University partners with Accenture, a leading global consulting firm, to develop a real-world scenario to let students develop their problem solving skills in a technology workspace.
As a part of the 2020 class, I participated in the Accenture Challenge in December 2019, with a team that I worked closely with throughout that year on different projects.
After receiving the request for proposal (RFP) from Accenture on Monday, the team started investigating solutions. By Thursday of that week, we received a “curveball,” learning that the client was facing a large security breach that must be addressed.
My team adopted the name, North Timber Consulting, to present our solutions on Friday at 8:30a.m. to a board of professional judges, who assumed the role of the client.
After a second round of presentations, North Timber Consulting and our “competitor” Coconut Consulting, were the first two teams ever to tie for the first place prize in the history of the Accenture Challenge.
